ANOTHER MATADEROS: THE TOUR

Meat, fire, ritual. Welcome to Mataderos, the neighborhood where asado isn’t just food — it’s culture. Asado, grill, empanadas. The three words that define Argentina. But the asado you’re looking for isn’t in Palermo or Puerto Madero. It’s in someone’s home.

Mataderos grew around meat — around the Mataderos slaughterhouses, work, and tradition. On this tour, we explore its history, architecture, and identity, visiting icons like the Nueva Chicago stadium, El Cedrón pizzeria, El Resero, and other hidden gems of the neighborhood.

The ritual begins before the fire. We step into a local bakery to discover different types of bread, understand the origin of facturas, and taste both delicate and dry pastries. Then, the butcher shop. We choose the meat the right way: you’ll learn the cuts, understand what to buy and why, and we’ll prepare the asado together, like a true asador.

We reach the key moment in a house in Mataderos. We light the fire, and you’ll learn real techniques, timing, salting methods, and cooking secrets. No show — just authenticity. The experience is completed with a traditional picada, vermouth, conversation, wine, and meat served straight from the grill to your plate.

On Sundays, the experience includes a visit to the Mataderos Fair, where tradition stays alive through music, popular culture, and craftsmanship.

You’re not coming to eat asado — you’re coming to understand it. To live it from the inside, to share it like a local. This doesn’t happen in restaurants — it happens in homes.

BE LOCAL.
